In accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255), LedgerLab discloses that this website earns commissions from certain outbound links to software products. This page explains how those relationships work and how they are kept separate from our editorial judgements.
1. Material connection disclosure
LedgerLab participates in affiliate programmes. When you click a designated affiliate link and subsequently make a purchase or sign up for a subscription, we may receive a commission from the vendor at no additional cost to you.
Affiliate links on this site are identified by the HTML attribute
rel="sponsored". Where context allows, they are also labelled
“(affiliate link)” in the surrounding copy or in the link itself.
2. Affiliate networks and programmes used
We work through the following affiliate infrastructure:
- impact.com (Impact). A third-party affiliate network that tracks referrals and processes commission payments for several of the vendors listed on this site. When you click an Impact-tracked link, Impact sets a cookie (the AWC / click-ID cookie) to attribute the referral. This cookie is subject to your cookie consent choice — see our Cookie Policy.
- Direct vendor programmes. Some vendors operate their own affiliate or partner programmes independently of a network. These include, but are not limited to, QuickBooks / Intuit, FreshBooks, Xero, Zoho, Wave, Sage, and Zeni. Commission terms and cookie behaviour are governed by each vendor’s programme agreement.
We do not receive commission from every vendor we review. Several products on this site are covered editorially without any affiliate relationship.
3. Editorial independence
Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial verdicts, rankings, or scoring in any way:
- Products are ranked solely on our published methodology — a weighted scorecard covering automation depth, real-world pricing, integration quality, user satisfaction, and AI capability.
- No vendor pays for placement, improved rankings, or a positive review.
- We cover products with no affiliate relationship alongside products that have one, and apply the same scoring criteria to all.
- Affiliate revenue funds site operations (hosting, testing subscriptions, staff), not editorial outcomes.
For the full editorial process, see our Editorial Guidelines and Methodology.
4. How commissions affect you
Clicking an affiliate link does not change the price you pay. The vendor pays the commission out of their own marketing budget. You are under no obligation to use our links — you can navigate directly to any vendor’s website and the result is the same for you.
5. Questions
If you have questions about a specific link or our affiliate relationships, email [email protected]. See also our Privacy Policy for how affiliate click data is processed.
