This Cookie Policy explains what cookies this site sets, why, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers all personal data processing, and our Affiliate Disclosure.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. They allow a site or third-party service to recognise your browser on subsequent visits. Some cookies are essential to deliver the page; others collect usage data or track referrals across sites.
2. Cookies we set or that are set on our behalf
This site does not set any cookies without your consent, except for the LocalStorage key used to remember your consent choice itself (see below). All analytics and affiliate tracking cookies load only after you click “Accept” in the cookie banner.
Consent storage (first-party, not a cookie)
| Name | Storage | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
cookie-consent | localStorage | Stores your Accept / Decline choice so the banner is not shown on every page. | Until you clear browser storage |
Analytics cookies — Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
Set only after consent. These cookies are set by Google Analytics 4 (property ID
G-2DL9G0TFXV) to measure how visitors interact with this site.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes unique users by assigning a randomly generated number. | 2 years |
_ga_2DL9G0TFXV | Google Analytics | Persists session state for this GA4 property. | 2 years |
Google Analytics uses the data to produce aggregate usage reports. We do not combine analytics data with personally identifiable information. See Google’s Privacy Policy and Google Analytics data practices.
Affiliate tracking cookies — impact.com
Set only after consent, and only when you click an affiliate link tracked via the impact.com network. These cookies attribute referrals so we can receive the commission described in our Affiliate Disclosure.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |

irclickid | impact.com | Stores a click ID to attribute conversions when you visit a vendor site after clicking a tracked link. | 30 days |

See impact.com’s Privacy Policy for further details.
Affiliate tracking cookies — direct vendor programmes
When you click an affiliate link to a vendor’s own site (QuickBooks/Intuit, FreshBooks, Xero, Zoho, Wave, Sage, or Zeni), the vendor’s website may set its own referral or session cookies governed by that vendor’s privacy policy. These cookies are set on the vendor’s domain, not on bestaiaccounting.com, and are outside our control.
3. Cookies we do not set
This site does not set advertising or retargeting cookies, social media tracking pixels, or session cookies for logged-in user accounts. There are no user accounts on this site.
4. Legal basis
Analytics and affiliate tracking cookies are loaded only after you give explicit consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a), implemented via the cookie consent banner). Declining the banner, or ignoring it, leaves all non-essential cookies and scripts unloaded. You can change your choice at any time as described below.
5. How to opt out or manage cookies
- Revoke consent on this site. Clear the
cookie-consentkey from your browser’s localStorage (browser DevTools → Application → Local Storage → bestaiaccounting.com) and reload the page. The consent banner will reappear. - Block or delete cookies via your browser. All major browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies in their privacy or settings menu.
- Google Analytics opt-out. Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent GA4 from collecting data across all sites, regardless of consent.
- impact.com opt-out. Visit impact.com’s opt-out page to opt out of interest-based advertising via their network.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if we add or remove cookies. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above. If we add new non-essential cookies, we will re-prompt consent where required by law.
